Boy it's been a long time since I have been on here. I got my old girl out last year and she required a new opti. Installed an MSD. Runs great cold but when warmed up the idle goes so low she stalls. Anyone have any ideas ??
thanks Fred
It's a little late now but don't ever buy parts up here in Canada as our prices are way too expensive. I purchase everythng from down south. You can buy a new opti for $400 or an MSD for $499.00, we are getting ripped for parts up here in Canada.
Fred
Hi Tony
I got mine cleaned while they were off the manifold with test results and they only flowed about 1/2% better and it cost me $260.00 Cdn so I don't think it was money wisely spent. But for peace of mind it was not such a bad deal as you never know how dirty they are.
Fred
Just hold the fuel rails and pull, the injectors will pop out. As for the fuel connections just pull them up and lay them on the windshield then you won't have to buy the disconnect tool. Make sure you replace the o-rings on the injectors while you have them out and put a little lube on them...
Went to the drags yesterday for the last kick at the cat before I put her away and had a great time and also great times.
60' 1.807
1/8 7.887
1/4 12.269
MPH 115.47
The only thing about the goods numbers is that you want more now that you are so close to the 11's. Saw three 6 speeds...
You are getting ripped on the cats. I put on EM's headers and purchased Magnaflow bullit cats for $150 each up here in Canada. They are probably cheaper in the States.
Fred
Yes, I have long tube headers. My dyno run was choppy and they suggested I need a little more tuning so that would probably increase my mph and decrease my time.
Fred
1993, 3.54 gears, ZZ9 cam, EM headers, 1.66rr's, tune by Alvin, TPIS AFR's, Magnaflow bullit cats, Allen chambered cat back and it is a stock auto and stock torque converter. Once you get started it is never enough. It is putting out 340hp at the wheels which I was more than a little...
Just got back from the track. Great weather and lots of runs. Got a new best of 12.7 at 112. My 60's were in the high 1.9's. I figure with DR's and taking out the front sway bar I should be low to mid 12's.
Fred
TPIS says that this cam will pass in CA. As for the Edlebrock heads if you check their website they are only good for 25 hp, they are cheap but I guess that is why. Maybe you should get your own heads done.
Fred
Well us Ontario Canada boys finally got together for a track day. After a long winter of installing TPIS AFR heads, ZZ9 cam, Pro magnum 1.6RR's, EM headers, bullet cats, Alvin tune and more goddies than I can remember I was a little dissapointed with my times. Best of 12.82 at 111 and a 60' of...
Took my baby out for the first time this weekend, what a smokeshow. Over the winter I added 3.54, TPIS AFR heads, Comp Cam 1.6rr's, ZZ9 cam, EM headers, Magnaflow bullet cats and a tune from Alvin. Man is it fast, it used to spin a little going into 2nd but now it goes sideways. I can hardly...
I am in the finishing stages of my head and cam swap and I need some pictures to finish the job. Does someone have a closeup of an LT1 vacuum lines on the drivers side and the little dohicky with the small coolant line that is under the throttle body.
Thanks
Fred
