In Search of factory door molding

My 2000 convertible was t-boned in a parking lot, insurance is paying for repairs. The problem is that the shop and I have not been able to find a source for the factory molding on the passenger door. If I would have know the issues trying to replace the molding I would have made them take the...

    Curve n Bump

Bump Steer I am little late to the party but what you experience sounds like a condition called "bump steer". When the suspension is loaded up from the corner and then add the rough road and the car will get a little squirrly. I am not an engineer but as I understand it the geometry of the...

How do you start the Love of Corvettes?

The Addiction When I was about 10 or so and we went to a little country Chevrolet dealer in Iowa. The only car in the show room was a brand new Vette, it was about a '61 or '62. From that day, I said one day I would own one. A few years later, a friend of my dad offered me a ride home; it was a...

    Restore Center Console

I am having a wear problem on the center console or radio bezel. There is a rubber coating on this piece and where my knee rubs against the console that material is flaking off. Is there a product that I can refresh that area? Is not a big issue but I would like to clear it up before it gets...

    Wet Carpet

I Took my Convertible Through a Car Wash Before I get jumped to doing such a dumb thing, my car was filthy and I didn't have time to really wash it. The car wash was a touchless one and as I sat there, I noticed that water was pouring in right at the point where the two pieces of weather...

    climate control module

Welcome The article referred to is the best, I think it took me longer to get the control module out of the car then it did to fix it. I am sure glad I came across that article when I did because I was ready to pull the unit and send it off to be fixed. Instead, I had the thing bright and...

HVAC controller display goes dim, then dark. HERE IS a fix for that.

Thanks for This Article I was just about ready to take my C5 to the dealer to have the HVAC controller fixed. I just happened to run across this thread. I think it took me longer to get the dash apart then it took to actually resolder the parts. Thanks to this article I now have a bright display.

    Question: Parts. . .

My guess would be that someone will go in and buy up all of the Corvette parts, turn around and sell them to us for twice they are today. Have you ever priced new old stock parts for a classic car? The people selling them must think the parts are made of gold. The problem will be that we will...

Question: installing a 12 cd changer

To connect the factory 12 disc changer you will need the cable that runs from the back of the radio to the trunk area. The changer is mounted in the center compartment, I believe. The cable alone is around $175 if I remember right. The changer is around $775 and if you want a couple of extra CD...

    Question: Part Name or Number

I want to replace the plastic surround piece at the base of the seat where the seat adjusting switches are mounted. I have tried to find the name but it seems to be called several different things. The piece that I need is for the driver seat, I have sport seats. The piece that is broken is...

Questions on buying a C5...or...New old member PNW

I bought a 2000 vert a couple of years ago and I have had no major problems with it. As far as running non-run-flats or not, there is and, I think will always be two seperate camps on that issue. There are valid reasons to go either way. And there are drawbacks of going either way. I have...
