Interestingly, MY 2007 Z06's supposedly had the "suspect" rockers.
Looks like the only thing to do is to verify that your valvetrain is the way it should be. (I don't want to use the term "spec" because it's just too sloppy, IMO)
Yesterday (07APR13) I was riding my Triumph in the local mountains East of Sandy Eggo. It was 2pm and I was about a mile from Lake Cuyamaca restaurant when I come around a bend and there's a fleet of C7's heading my way. I didn't have enuf time to shoot some photos (altho my bike was wearing a...
What with all the legaleze and pain in the butt of having to deal with "diminished value" (If it's allowed in the OP's State, I would have taken the "New car for $15,000" Alex.)
Having only $15,000 in a new C6 Corvette mean you stand to make $35,000 to $40,000 by selling it. These are numbers...
I for one am glad "those days are long gone."
Gone are the days of making 330HP and getting 6 mpg.
Those old cars may have been nostalgic, but todays cars are better in every way (except price or resale value!)
If my Z06 only got 6MPG on the highway, I likely wouldn't have bought it. It's...
The alignment specs are about a mile wide for the Corvette. If your alignment shop can't get it "within spec," then search for an alignment shop that doesn't have Helen Keller working as a tech.
Yes, because of neg. camber, the insides of the fronts will wear appreciably.
It's something you...
The stock LS7 is rated @ 470lb.ft.
I would suggest using a 4L80 trans as it has a higher capacity.
They can be built for lots of power.
Now, if money were no object, I'd look at the 6L90 from the blown Caddy. That trans IS rated for a lot more torque than what the LS7 makes.
You'll want to...
toppthat~ Realizing you're on a budget, I would say Michelin Pilot Sports. Are they cheap? Nope.
Do they last twice as long as all the other tires, thus saving money in the long run? You betcha, they do!
Sometimes, "cheap" tires cost more than better tires that last longer...
After reviewing the 2012 Porduction #'s, I ran across "D30" Color Override" option. What IS that? All I know is 58 cars had it. None were Z06's. Are there 58 "Mary Kay" Corvettes running around?;LOL
Hib, I would have sub'd PS2's for your road trip. They work very well, and last a long time. Your "cups" are going to be junk by the time you get to Santa Barbara. That's a shame because those cups are great tires, just not for the purpose you're using them for. Oh well, it's too late now, enjoy...
Having a dealership that knows it's product is good business. There is always going to be a "new" salesperson that doesn't know everything about every car on their lot. That would be impossible as models change specs and dealerships change sale staff.
Now, would I like a "specialist" that...
Interesting that GM will cease production of the C6 for "several months" to deplete existing inventory, prior to releasing the C7. I guess those that want to "negotiate down" a price on a new C6 with C7's on the lot will get shut out. :chuckle
Also, regarding the LS7 in a 'vert, those that get...
Did both plugs look like this?
Here's a pic of both cleaned and still loaded plugs. This engine has 51,XXX miles on it, and the oil change intervals are 20% oil life, give or take.
doubt this is it!
GM is secretly praising Jalopnick for making the C7 have some media buzz. Lately, there's been nothing to talk about. Whether this is it or not, we're speculating. I'd like to see the interior. (Oh yeah, I sure hope it doesn't look like a friggen C4!)
It looks like the...
OP~ There have been numerous threads about the "C6 gas cap."
Here's what I can tell you. Some early gas caps caused a code to be thrown. Causing a "check engine light" (CEL) to be illuminated. Once it has been replaced, the light may (or may not) go out, but the code is still stored. You'll...
The only thing I use NAV for is @ 1/32nd mile scale. I use it to tell me what an unknown road is going to do if I'm "railing" it. Saved my bacon a coupla times (and almost cost me my bacon other times.)
Speaking of which, why is bacon $8 a pound?:eyerole
