keep that 4+3 its a very tricky one but my friend have a 4+3 (86) and he show me how it works and its great... get off in first, then get into 2nd O/V OFF at any rpm then stay O/D OFF TO +/- 4300 RPM AND JUST PRESS ON THE O/D ON THE SHIFTER AT WOT... THEN GO TO THE 3RD GEAR WITH O/D OFF AND...

yes any c 5 will fit right on for a 88-up but c-6 have a different offset for the rear wheels and you can fit c-5 to a 84-87 with a 1 1/4 spacer ( i did it with my 87 ) hope that help :beer
