Question: Will C5/C6 rims bolt on to a C4?

When I owned my first c4 I never put any wheels on it cause
the original owner had put saw blades on it and I liked it.. My
90 c4 has the painted gray c5 wheels on it 18 on back 17 in the
front. I like this setup but don't care for 5 spoke wheels at all.
My question being unless it's another set of vette wheels off
another new model and we are so limited to choice of wheels
will these work and if so where do I get them????? I have looked
everywhere and must just be missing them. I like wheels that look
busy... and think these would look sweet on my 90...

I want wheels like the picture below!

Dang 25 views and nobody has a comment?;help

I'm kinda missing the question even though I re-read your post a couple times. I get that you want to put new rims on your 1990, but I'm not sure what rims you are talking about.

Rims like in the picture of the vette below the post.

There should be plenty of rims out there just like that that'll fit. Just a matter of finding 'em. If you know who made those rims, then just contact that manufacturer. They probably make 'em in the correct size for the C4.

Have you tried the regular wheel places like TireRack and all those?

I have been all over and nobody seems to be able to help me
with the fit. Don't know who makes those, I simply stumbled
on the picture on the web.. So if anyone has any idea It would
be much appreciated... The Wife says find them and get them..
Not often the bank says just do it.... lol I guess thats cause
she drives it more than me.

Contact Fiske, CCW, HRE, Forgeline. None of these are inexpensive but they can fix you right up.

Oh yea they are high dollar for sure... I have heard fiske sometimes
have fitting issues... ????????

Check out this thread from Remo. I think he's our unofficial in-house wheel & tire guy. If anything, you might not find the exact rims you are looking for, but you'll certainly see tons of others that might pique your interest! You could also PM Remo and ask him to look at the rims in this thread to see if he can identify them.
It also wouldn't entirely surprise me if there was a similar thread somewhere in this C4 section.

Ok today I went to two different wheel shops. Took this pic and
they told me that wheels that fit c6 vettes will not fit cause of
the off set... I said I don't know for sure but think they would.
Guy then tells me after looking and calling that my only choice is
with a company that will build a wheel for me and then tells me I
am looking close to 5k... I just find this hard to believe....
So let me Change my question around...
Will c5 and c6 wheels work on a c4. If so then I can find the
off set and find the wheel I want by just finding the correct
bolt pattern and offset or am I missing something?

Now according to Cray wheels website they will fit... and I love the cray manta's...
just seems nobody likes dealing in wheels for vettes...

Between C4-C5-C6, I think each gen had it's own bolt pattern or specific offset, not to mention diameter. Don't quote me, but I don't think any new gen rim is directly bolt-on to a previous gen within the C4-C6 series. You'd likely need hub adapters or spacers or something.
And yes, to get custom rims, meaning created just for your application, you are looking about $5K. That's why most people find a rim and then get hub adapters / spacers. It's not the best solution, but for some it's a 'safe-enough' trade off compared to the cost of custom.

I'm kinda surprised more people haven't chimed in here... ;shrug
Maybe the C4 guys are still on vacation...:L

Well see here is the thing, right now my 90 has c5 wheels on it and I can
unbolt them and put the orig. sawblades right on. So I know from this
that the c5's will go right on. Then unless something we are missing
Cray wheels website does show the same wheel for all 3 but you are right
maybe they need spacers or something.

I am with you I thought more would chime in by now lol... maybe new year
hang over..... I know the c4 is not forgotten.

Well, I guess that answers at least one question. Yes, C5 rims will fit on the C4.
So then now it's just a matter of finding those rims that you want, right? Specifically, the rims in the pic above?
Have you contacted Remo yet?

Late C4s (89 - up IIRC except ZR1) normally have a 56mm backspace for the 9.5" wheels. The C5s are very close to that measurement if not the exact measurement (54mm comes to mind) So C5 wheels should fit without issue on later C4s (earlier ones with spacers). Now I really don't know where the C6s are but I doubt they are far off, so they should fit as well.

yes any c 5 will fit right on for a 88-up but c-6 have a different offset for the rear wheels and you can fit c-5 to a 84-87 with a 1 1/4 spacer ( i did it with my 87 ) hope that help :beer

Ok I have made up my mind on my wheels and would like to see what some of you think..

I have decided on Ruff R281's
with a stager of
Rear 265/30/20x10
Front 255/35/19x8

This is the wheel

Wow...20" rims in the back with 30 series tires, eh? Should be interesting, if not a bit bone-jarring.

Talked with a guy at a small show who had a set of Ruff's not the same
series and this was the size he was running.. He actually had the spiders
just as the picture of the red zo6 in the corvette action center logo at
the top of the page... But they are almost as much as HRE wheels.. to
rich for my blood...

Rims C4

17*8,5 offset 56mm
17*9,5 offset 53mm
18*9,5 offset 58mm och 50mm
18*10,5 offset 58mm, 56mm och 36mm

Corvette 88-96:17*8,5 offset 56mm fits front and rear. 17*9,5 offset 53mm fits front and rear. 18*9,5 offset 58mm fits front and rear. 18*10,5 offset 58mm fits rear. 18*10,5 offset 56mm fits rear.

This is European from a shop who sells rims. I´m sure there is a lot of other sizes that fits, just a matter of trying. Bolt pattern i guess is the most important issue.

C5 wheels on C4

I didn't respond originally as you say you don't like 5-spokes.
For what it's worth, I have put C5 MY2000 'thin'-5-spoke FRONT wheels(i.e.17-inch dia.) all round on my 1992 LT1. (Silver painted, not chrome). I also fitted the 'c5' sized tyres, i.e. 245/45ZR17 (Goodyear NCT5), but not EMTs. I find the ride and handling has improved greatly, and the car is much less prone to 'tramlining' (I assume you also have 'truck-grooves' on the roads in the States!). Since the NCTs are not directional/assymetrical, you can fit any wheel in any position on the car. I have only received very positive comments about the appearance - generally, the stock ('turbo'/sawblade) wheels are now considered to be a bit bland, but: beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Another gain with the narrow-5-spokes is the visibility of the braking hardware; I have painted my calipers to match the body color (NCRS guys look away!). Looks kinda neat - I got the idea from the 'blue devil' ZR1.
Save the wave and keep on truckin'
J.C. in merrie old England......
