Strut Photo
I took a picture of the inside of the strut so that you can see the bushing that holds it onto the post, as well as the curved needlenose plier that made it easy to remove. Hope this information helps somebody down the road! :)
Mission accomplished!
For anyone else who's interested, here's how I did it:
I ordered the Strongarm 4903 from Amazon. They fit perfectly. Here's how I replaced them - First, I opened the hatch and used an adjustable strap that I use to transport my kayak to hold it open. I wound the strap...
The strut design may have changed between 1985 and 1988. I don't think that there is a clip in the back, but I'll have to look when I get home from work. :)
I'll have to have a look when I get home from work. I tried poking into the open end of the strut with a screwdriver while trying to pull it off without success when I tried it the other day. If I understand you correctly, I need to find a tool to push the bracket to the back of the inside of...
I purchased new rear hatch struts to replace the old, leaky ones on my 1985. I'm not sure how the old ones come off. Some folks say that there is a tab that has to be slid, but there seems to be nothing like it on mine; perhaps they changed design in later years. I don't want to just try prying...
I'm afraid I can't help much, since I know very little about C3's, but someone posted this website once before. It lets you get a current value for any Corvette. Hope it helps! :w

I went with Warranty Direct. I priced them versus GM and they were FAR less expensive than GM. Everything I've read about them on this and other bulletin boards was positive, so I went with them. I haven't had any claims, so I can't talk about service. Good luck! :)
If I remember correctly, I read in a book called "101 Projects for your Corvette" that this problem could be caused by a dirty intake. It's been a while since I read it, but they said that dirt on the plates causes them to not close completely and that forces the idle to keep "searching". They...
I moved it from a trickle charger to a 10 amp charger and left it on for about 5 hours. The gauge on the charger dropped to under 2 amps, so I figured it was good to go. The car fired right up, so I'm hoping everything will work out. Thanks to all for the suggestions! :)
When I went to bring the Corvette home for the summer, the battery didn't have enough power left to start the car (although a side issue, I don't understand this since I'd been starting the car every four weeks, without fail, since storing it).
I brought the battery home and hooked it up to a...
While perusing the local Goodwill, I happened upon a remote control (wired remote) C-4 Corvette. It is silver, about a foot long, and the remote has two joysticks and a button. One joystick makes it go back and forth, the other turns the wheels left or right. The button turns on the...
Another Minnesotan here. I put in fuel stabilizer and drive it enough so that it is mixed into the entire system, then I top off the tank and add a little more stabilizer. Wash and wax the car. Park the car. Over the next 6 months, I start the car once a month and let it run for 30 minutes...
I think it's idiotic to pull the ad. I thought it was well done and funny. It certainly would not be beyond the realm of possibility to see GM getting sued if a kid took a car for a joyride and the parents blamed this commercial. Just go to www.overlawyered.com to get a feel for some of the...
