For a 1973, what would the best replacement battery be? The one that came with the car looks more like a motorcycle battery than a car battert - it's pretty small.
Suggestions? I'm starting to think this may also be the reason why my battery meter hasn't worked since I got the car.
Thanks as...
Thanks Eric I'll definitely do that on Monday and see what he says. I guess they're listed in the book? I haven't heard of them...
But, I'll say Eric sent me...Mike
If your C3 parking brake needed complete replacement from top to bottom, what would a realistic price be including labor at the shop? I was quoted $2000 U.S.$. Is that nuts or what?
The quote was from a specialty Vette garage - what would Midas or Speedy charge - or even the Chev dealer...
Gang,
In a 1973 there is absolutely no room to store the T-tops and still have 2 speakers to listen to the stereo.
So...any solutions as to mini speakers, customized speaker setups, or anyway to hear the tunes other than from the front speakers?
When I cought the car it came with 2...
Ok...for those of us who live in snow country and actually have a weekend where the roads are completely dry...the sun is shining....would you drive your baby? There is salt on the roads that probably will cover the bottom of the car.
Is it worth it??

If it helps, I have a 1973 L48 Coupe (see attached) so you could see what you might be getting.... Mine was originally Orange! I guess when my turn comes, I'll have to decide if I should leave it red (which I like a lot) or go back to it's correct orange. Mine is also numbers matching.

Just had my carb rebuilt, fuel line replaced, choke spring replaced....AND.....much better get up and go! No more stalling, no more hesitation!
Yahoo! I also asked them to check the secondaries, which they do, but it made me sound like I actally knew something....
Thanks for all the advice...
Follow-up question...
I JUST came home from an hour or so drive..(the first part was great). Then, when I got off the freeway, the car wasn't getting enough fuel - it started choking and then stalled. I managed to restart it and then it backfired and stalled again. It drove for 10 minutes kind...
Ok, this could be the dumbest question ever asked on this forum!
If a 1974 is th elast year of leaded gas, and I'm driving a 1973 which is leaded as well....why is it ok to put 91 and higher octane super unleaded in the tank?
Would performance be enhanced if I used a different gas? SHould I...
My 73 has some issues with the carb as well. I suspect the previous owner who left it sitting unused for 2 years did not help the carb functioning.
I think my best bet is to have it rebuilt next year. It also has no kick and backfires for the first minute or so of driving.
Thanks guys...I tried the easy spray carb cleaner routine today. We'll see how it starts tomorrow. A lot of black "guck" did get cleaned from the carb...
If not successful, will try Stringray 72s idea...Mike
