    Autolifters - Still in Business?

I have the same problem. I too am ready to buy a lift from them (the 4-post lift) I tried to contact them...800 number not working...local numbers disconnected....web site home page deleted. I called Backyard Buddy...talked with the sales people there. Their lift (same type of construction)...

Why does my '68 not look like other '68s?

I agree...the front of the blue one is from the '70 to '72 years.....with a custom grill installed. It also has a custom "long-type" hood with the wiper door removed. It also looks to have '69 or later doors....the '68 had a push-button to open the door. If the VIN says '68....then it's a...

    what is this ??

I'll try to explain....without getting too technical. The left side "switch" is a vacuum valve. Pull down on the switch...and the headlights will open (if the engine is running), but not turn on. This is used to over-ride the headlight switch....or to open the headlights without turning them...

    C3 Vacumn Hose Question

It's not that difficult to replace the vacuum hoses on a '72, but...there are quite a few. I would suggest buying a vacuum hose kit from one of the vendors (I bought mine from Dr. Rebuild). The kit should come with all the hoses....and a hose routing diagram similar to this one. Then...

Window crank handle stuck on 72 Vette

The window crank does just snap on....but there is a retainer that must be removed before the window handle can be removed. Any parts store will have the tool....it slides behind the window crank and pushed the clip out, allowing the handle to be removed. To re-install, just push the clip back...

    R12 to R34 Converstion

I would have recharged with R-12 (I still have about 15 lbs left), but since the expansion valve was plugged and the compressor hoses were bad....I had to pull most of the system out to clean, I wanted to convert to R-134a to see just how it worked. I've heard the stories, but wanted to see for...

    R12 to R34 Converstion

Yes....there are kits available to convert from R-12 to R-134a. Go to any parts store (I got mine at Advance Auto Parts). The kit will contain 3 cans of Freon/oil/seal conditioner mixture, a charging hose, and adapters to fit your fittings....BUT.... The adapters will not fit on your car...

    How to jumpstart?

Hook the jumper cables to your positive and negative posts in your car FIRST , then hook to the car that is going to jump you. Then, remove the cables from the 2nd car before removing them from your vette. That way, there shouldn't be any sparks generated in your car that could ignite the...

OK Guys Who likes a big rack

Take a look at this..... This was taken on the Hot Rod Power Tour when we were leaving the driver's meeting one morning. The C-2 in front of me had taken a motorcycle trailer, installed C-2 lights and emblem and painted it to match his car. They drive this car everywhere...and still have...

Thanks..... I'll give the Varsity a try (I'm a hot dog hog). My job keeps me out of town most of the time -- I'm in Arlington, TX right now....but should be getting back late Friday. If I can get free, I'll try to make it.
