    What's your daily driver?

1967 Ford Bronco - notice a color theme here? It gets pretty squirelly in the ice with the Detroit locker in the rear, but otherwise, it will go anywhere. The students here won't mess with it, and it just knocks some dust off when they back into the plate steel bumpers in the parking lots here...

    FS 01 Millenium Yellow Convertible

It tears me up, but due to financial reasons, I have to part with my Vette. It's got 51k miles - mostly highway and has always been garage kept. The only issues with the car are a worn driver’s side bolster, and a small amount of road chipping on the front – probably less than you’d expect for...

The Waiting, The Sweating: Air Conditioning Poll

When I lived in Phoenix, always set it down to 1 or 2 before getting out of the car. That way, it'd fire up with the motor. Once the air goes slightly below blow-dryer temp, it was up to high. Even 100 degree air feels good on a 115 degree day. :eek Now that I'm up in Flagstaff, I've only...

    @#$% Punks!

I work at NAU, so we're safe there (I am also an ASU grad). There's some some sort of band camp going on, and a lot of the kids (High School, I beleive) walk thru the lot I've been parking in. I can imagine it now: "This one time, at band camp... I stole emblems off a Corvette, the guy...

    @#$% Punks!

This very same topic has come up with lots of my co-workers today. I hope I'm not buying MY emblems back :duh

    @#$% Punks!

Thanks for the Advice - goof off is someting I always have on hand. Nice to know it won't damage the paint. I found a couple of used badges on E-bay pretty cheap, what's the best double sided tape to use? I was thinking of epoxying them on, but then I had visions of a totally trashed paint...

    @#$% Punks!

Well, after 5 1/2 years, it finally happened - my Vette was the victim of vandalism. Luckily, they didn't destroy anything and didn't mess up the paint. They just swiped the Corvette emblems off the front and rear. It really ****es me off that punks like this have to trash other people's...

    Flat tire at 80+ mph!

About 2 years ago coming back from Vegas, I had a massive blowout (picked the back of the car up a few inches when it happened) outside of Wickenberg. Left a 2" hole in the tire - I assume it was some sort of FOD. I managed to drive the thing home @55mph for 100 miles. I knew the tire would...

    Electrical system meltdown?

Good news - I'm out for less than $500 to fix it. The ignition switch is the culprit - it's gone bad. This likely was the cause of my stalling issue a while back as well. I thought something really expensive got toasted - I'm pretty releived to only be out $410 or so. :cool

    Electrical system meltdown?

Well I checked the grounds and cables - no problems there. The car completely drained a brand new battery in a week, so there's something going on there. I charged up the battery, but the car won't start - just turns over, but gets no fuel or spark. I'm going to have it towed to the dealer -...

    Electrical system meltdown?

Yes - the AMP is directly to the batt on ringed connectors. The amp power switch is wired in thru the radio, so the amp is off when the radio is. I was careful to go to a shop that is actually owned by a Vette driver. Do you think the AMP could have fried something?

    Electrical system meltdown?

Hi c4c5 - no service done lately - this started out as an intermittant problem with the car dying when cold a few weeks ago. Now it's this. The battery cables are nice and tight and free of corrosion, so I think I've got that one eliminted. I have not checked the various grounds yet though -...

    Electrical system meltdown?

A bad alt would probably explain the dead battery. It would not hold a charge anymore so I replaced it. Could the alt explain the flashing of power though? I do get intermittant 'low voltage' messages on the DIC, but no codes.

    Electrical system meltdown?

Hello, Had a bad battery - would not start the car all the time and would randomly die on me. I replaced it with a new one and still have one of the symptoms: When I put the key in and trun it to 'on', the dash lights and the running lights outside flash rapidly (about 3 - 4 times a...

    Avon on a Vette

We have Avons on our Toyota Solara and love them. I run PilotSport ZP's on the Vette, so I personally can't say how Avons would do on the vette. But I can say that the Toyota is a totally different car with them and can actually corner about 3/4 as well as the Vette does. They do suck in the...

    Engine dies when cold

No other symptoms. I've got just over 50k miles on the clock. I've been using the same gas in it for a while now - but it does come from Safeway, so it's probably spot market gas, but we haven't had a problem with gas from that station in any of our vehicles since we've moved here. I always...

    Engine dies when cold

This has happened to me 3 times in the last week. I start the car, put in in drive (a4 auto), move about 5 feet anf the engine dies. I start it back up and no problems. It only does it when cold, and there are no codes showing up except for the LDCM and RDCM one that always comes up (U1064H)...

    vert wind screens

Here's a link to the product: http://www.vettenet1.com/MainPage.html I got one a few years back. It really cuts down on the wind noise and allows you to put the top down on cooler days since there's much less wind coming from behind you. Plus, the wife likes it so she can avoid that 'Hairdo...

XM radio antena install on a convert

I have the small antenna on my SkyFi II. I mounted it on the open space under the trunk-lid, right behind the waterfall (right under the letter 'U' in the pic on the 1st post of this thread). There's some metal in the area outside the trunk gasket that it will stick to. There's no heavy woods...
