    Help with Code 33 on a 1990

Hi OZ, The chip has been tuned for my ZZ4 setup... Requested idle after warm-up is 725rpm...idles between 725 and 750 with 1.6V coming from the MAP sensor. Problem is not noticable at idle, only while under load in gear. Thanks for the diagnostics.

    Help with Code 33 on a 1990

Hi all, I have a 1980 with mildly modded ZZ4 and TPI. The PCM/ECU is from a 1990 and is a MAP system, not MAF. I am getting an intermittant error code 33 - MAP voltage high - low vacumn. The engine runs normally, and then starts to run rough -hesitate/stumble. Within a few minutes the...

Question: So do you like the 15" rims or the 17" rims?

I don't have first hand knowledge of tire compound differences, but what I was referring to was the 17" sidewall's different flex than the 15". The 255/50-17's I put on have a sidewall that's 50% of the tire width. The 255/60-15's I took off had a sidewall that was 60% of the tire width. When...

Question: So do you like the 15" rims or the 17" rims?

I have 17x8 American Racing Torq Thrust II's installed with 255/50-17 tires. No one has addressed the huge difference in the way vettes handle with the larger rim and lower profile tires. There is a massive difference in cornering ability with the 17" wheels vs. 15" wheels. My .02

Question: Who here is running 17" tires on their C3 or earlier?

I have a 1980 with American Racing 17"x8" Torq Thrust II wheels and Bridgestone Potenza RE750 255/50-17 tires installed. The wheels were purchased with the correct offset and backspacing. I don't have Steeroids installed. I have stock trailing arms. The tires have never rubbed anything except...

    Serpentine Belt System for L81

I have converted the ZZ4 in my 1980 to a serpentine kit. The first time out with the car after I converted, I wound the motor up... and the belt came off!:mad I also didn't have any tools in the car. I now carry a spare belt and the tools to install it. Piece of cake!:beer
