    C1 Spark Plug Wire Recommendation

Delco wires AC Delco outlets still sell TVRS plug wire set #508N. It's pre-cut for small block Corvettes with ignition shielding, and it costs about $25 locally.

    How low can you go?

On any lowered '63-7 Corvette, you run the risk of breaking the fiberglass lip above your front tires when you hit a bump with the wheels turned. This I know for a fact.

    Dead Coil..... Again

I would check for a hose that is swollen near-shut internally either under the gas tank or on the suction side of the fuel pump.

PLEASE LOOK AT THIS 65 engine stamp!!! HELP!!!

For what little it's worth. Yes. I believe it is a factory stamped pad. I think the trim tag is real too.

    Torq Thrust D wheels

My previous post on another forum Starting around 1960, American began selling a 5-spoke wheel called the Torq-Thrust. The spoke crest of a Torq-Thrust wheel was straight all the way from the center to the rim. It did not clear disc brakes without a spacer. It was offered in both aluminum and...

    Torq Thrust D wheels

Buy the TT II Unfortunately, it isn't just a question of backspacing. Corvette disc brake clearance also depends on the shape of the spokes. I don't think I can explain American "D" wheel designs any plainer than I did in my previous post on this subject. If you are waiting for American to...

anyone in Houston like to go check out a 58 Fuelie?

I am covered with shame. My NCRS Spec Book is dated 1989, so I'll just shut up now.

anyone in Houston like to go check out a 58 Fuelie?

I'm going by the NCRS Specifications Guide, my memory, and the photo on the auction page showing a charcoal colored trunk interior. The NCRS Guide could be wrong or out of date. My memory is worthless as an information source. And certainly, the auction photo could be misleading for a zillion...

anyone in Houston like to go check out a 58 Fuelie?

Original black paint? I dunno about that. The darkest factory-offered shade I've seen on a '58 Corvette was "charcoal", a gray with high metallic content. That looks like a nice car, though. Just maybe a little over-hyped with all the crap about matching numbers and 3000 miles.

    1962 Fuel Injectors

Exactly what does he want? A poster named "Roy A." asked a question similar to yours on the CorvetteForum a few weeks ago. This was my response: "I don't know if he is looking for manufacturers of reproduction nozzles for a 1962 Rochester FI system, or if he wants to buy an original 1962...

Getting bolts out of exhaust manifolds????

When I've encountered truly frozen studs, the only way I've found to get them out is to use high heat. If you heat the metal around the stud to cherry red, it will expand the size of the stud hole enough to free the stud. If you heat the stud directly, it will grow in diameter and become even...

Munch The Carpet......Who Do You Like..??

Nobody's perfect. The only two brands of carpet I've installed recently are ACC and Knoch. Back in the seventies and eighties there were other reproduction brands, but I don't think they're available now. I don't have the patience to order carpet from Romeo. Both ACC and Knoch sell carpet...

If you ever wondered, heres a fake tank sticker

Difficult to view. Auctions like that are painful to even read. It has all the slimey weasel words and disclaimers in the world, but then goes on to promote the car as if it were perfect and rare. AS-IS! I'm just a car buff, not an inspector! Nothing guaranteed! This description...

Are people crazy or is it just me! Sale of a 1965

Better brace yourself. Many of the folks who bid high and early on expensive cars are bored 14 year-olds on Mom's computer. Most of the rest are dreamers who need their wife's approval to take a leak.

    Distributor Springs

Maybe I can save you some trouble. HEI springs are too long and will not return your mechanical advance weights to the idle position reliably. Mr. Gasket advance kits for points distributors contain three sets of springs with different tension levels: Super Wimpy, Weak Suck, and Almost Okay...

It's Time For The New "Guessing Game"...Why Did The Canadians Install This Hole???

I've never noticed a difference in the number/size of motor windings between factory a.c. fans and the others. I believe any air flow difference would be due to the a.c. fan impeller design.

It's Time For The New "Guessing Game"...Why Did The Canadians Install This Hole???

It is a vent connection for cooling air to enter the winding housing from the a.c. evaporator case. Originally only factory air cars had motors with this vent hole. However, a service motor now comes with this hole in case it is going to be installed in a factory a.c. car. If your car...

    fuel injection help

Percolation Your FI running problems at high engine temps (200 degrees is relatively high) are probably due to percolation in the FI distribution spider. The gasoline is actually vaporizing in the copper tubes that feed the nozzles. Modern gasoline is especially prone to percolating. It...

    Rochester FI folks out there?

I suggest you buy reproduction FI parts from John DeGregory or Paragon. Both of those are honest businesses who care about customer satisfaction. There aren't many folks who sell original Rochester FI parts. Most of the professional rebuilders keep their spare parts for future use on customer...
