UNFORTUNATELY I won't get a chance to put them on this weekend either because I'm spending Saturday with my aunt celebrating my birthday and the !#@(*^% tire place is not open on Sunday to mount them... Excellent choice I love my KD's. I was not aware that they had been discontinued.
Tire rack still has them on their site.

I guess I better call and check if they are not going to have them I need to stock up on them. :)

Yup, I had Discount Tire call BF Goodrich and they told them they had been discontinued so right now only suppliers that have leftovers are selling them. Get yours fast!!!!!!!!!

I sure hate to hear that..
I guess it is due to slow sales of the tire. The KD is not a long lasting tire but the performance is great.

I have read on this forum as well as others that some tires had really good traction and lasted 50,000 miles well I have news for them any tire that the compound is hard enough to last 50,000 miles will NOT PROVIDE GOOD TRACTION.

Since performance is a subjective thing I'm sure they believe that the traction is good but it depends on what you are comparing it to.

I have had some really bad tires from Goodyear but my last time was when I put on 4 wrangler All terrain tires on my Bronco and one was shaped like a football nearly tore the dash out at 60 mph.

I took it to my local Goodyear store and they wanted to look at the tire.
When we went out and they saw what it was on they said well that is the problem our tire will do that every time on a Ford.

They claimed it was not the tires fault it was FORD.
I would drive on the rim before I would buy another Goodyear tire.

If I can not buy the KD's I may try the Kumho performance tire one thing I'm sure of is I will not be paying over 300 bucks for the tire from G year

Nitto and Kumho make really good tires for a fair price. ANd if you want the tires to perform well and not worry about life expectancy, dont get R Compound competition tires, just get Nitto 555R's (for example), as they are fair priced. There are allot of tires available. Dont just go to tire rack or discount tires. Go to the tire websites, find what you like then ask your tire dealer to get them. Discount and tire rack dont advertise everything available trust me.,

I have a Independent tire store near me and while he is a Firestone dealer he can get anything and not only is he competitive price wise he has outstanding service.

It is a family run operation and I like doing business their.
If I have a problem I know he will make right.

You can also buy these relays from Autozone for $9 (part number MR44). Depending on supplier, they come in either a gray or black case. I like to keep a spare. On my 1989, the same part is used in 5 places. I would suggest replacing both MAF relays. They share a common bracket that you reuse to install these relays.

Changed my mind

I'm going to get these put on tomorrow sometime so I will post pictures as soon as I can.... I'm also installing a new radiator, fans and brakes so it may be a day or two before I get 'er all buttoned up. :D

I noticed today that I have a hole about 1 inch in diameter in the inner fender panel where the tire has been rubbing.

That sucks!!!!
If your car is stock ride height you will be ok mine has been lowered about 1 1/4" and I drive it very aggressively sometimes getting it airborne off of hills and this will result in bottoming out.:chuckle

ZR1 WHEELS

Yeah, not lowering this one. I've got three others that I have to worry about and its kinda nice having one or two that you don't have to worry about in that regard. Haven't lowered my 68 either and although it would look better lowered it is a blast to drive because I don't have to worry about anything!

I don't worry about it but like I said I drive mine very aggressively.

Near my home is a state rd that is hilly and I came off of one of the big hills at 170mph and had a good 8 feet of day light under my tires.

This type driving will bottom out a stock ride height car.

I don't worry about it if I wanted to drive 55 I would be driving one of those little import motorized skateboards.

If something breaks I just fix it stronger than it was when it had OEM parts on it.
After ten years of this i now have it dam near bullet proof. :upthumbs

Here they be!

At last!! Got them bolted up... did a lot of work to this car and others so it took a bit. I'm a bit peod at myself... when I ordered the rims I ordered them polished instead of chrome so now I'm gonna need to order a matching set of polished fronts. No problem... it will be easier to sell a set of four of these matching then just two. And, the hood isn't closed because I put a new two row radiator in it and am having some fit issues... right now the hood won't shut. GRRRRRRRRRRRR but didn't want to wait for you guys to see the tires!!

Now that you have seen how nice it looks are you still going to set the wheels in.
What brand radiator did you buy??
I may change mine sometime and it would be nice to know which ones don't fit.
They all claim to fit but I wonder if any of them really do.

With all the projects I have going on right now, absolutely not - I'm just gonna leave it. I have enough work to keep me busy for the next three years straight working EVERY WEEKEND with all the cars I have so not gonna worry about it. Everything is completely out of the way as far as clearance and considering this really is one of my daily drivers I'm gonna keep it that way. I have a rear spoiler that I'm prepping to paint to put on it and I think with that it will look even better.

The radiator I got was a very nice aluminum one made by Entropy - It only cost me $389 instead of the $550 you normally see. The radiator itself looks great but definitely not direct fit. I had to entirely remove my upper rubbers (except for the piece on the driver's side that holds the evaporator core) and it still won't allow the top shroud to bolt down all the way (that is why the hood won't shut). And the inlet for the upper radiator hose is angled in too much which directly pushes against the fan housing but with MUCH wrestling its on there. Where it is rubbing on the hood I'm probably just going to shave some of the fiberglass off but I just hate to do that. But out here in AZ with 110+ degrees the stock radiators just aren't sufficient to to keep the car cool so I have no choice. :)
