Im new to this forum but wondering if anyone can help.
I have a 1977 corvette and the key will not turn back, turns forward fine.
Would i need a new key cylinder with a new key. or just the ignition switch itself.
Thanks in advance.

Could be switch, actuator assy.,tumbler assy. or Mal adjusted!!;shrug

car is a automatic. yes the key will come out. just cant turn back to listen to the radio. yes i know about the button.
thanks again

If you can turn it on, turn it off, and get the key out, then I would leave it alone.

You may get it back to accessories, and not be able to get it forward to off.

Good Luck!

Try spraying some WD40 in the Key cylinder, sometimes it just needs a little Lubrication!!:upthumbs

Try pushing in on the ignition switch as you are trying to get to the ACC. position. Mine won't go unless I do that.

i got a new key with cylinder. anyone know a good web page on a how to remove and install.
