Question: 1987 Mass Air Flow Sensor - Code 33 Diagnosis and Replacement Options

Thanks for all the replies. I haven't had the time to get back on this, but here are some comments based on questions asked recently:

I did look inside the MAF sensor, but it's pretty hard to see the fine wires through the screen. My mechanic says if a wire was broken I wouldn't have an intermittent problem.

Marv02 - I may send you a PM about your MAF. If it's cheap enough that might help pin things down.

I'm hoping this doesn't turn into a protracted wiring troubleshooting effort.

By the way, Callaway said they've seen issues with aftermarket MAFs and don't recommend them.

I havean 87 that starts right up and runs good for a short distance and then. It like stated previously goes into limp home mode.could this sensor be my problem as well.
