Well, tomorrow's the big day. Hopefully traffic isn't too awful, but this is just when it worked out for everyone. I'm looking forward to seeing the car, am hopeful it's just great, and am trying not to get too excited about it. :)
Well?

We're awaiting a well detailed story of course! :)
With pictures of it's new owner ;)

Groeten Peter.

Wow, that's one heckuva summary! How much did you charge him for the consultation? :)

The car sounds to be great mechanicly. On the cosmetics side of things... I think what you saw is reflected in the price. TLC obviously wasn't a major concern of the current owner and your expert eye has caught all of the details. It has to be what you want. If you can spend the next 2-3 years going over the car and getting it to where you want-- then it's a great car. If you'd rather spend a few more $$$ and get something already in collectible (non-driver) condition... then that's what you gotta do. It's tough, I know. I've been on both sides of the coin. The last car that I bought, I wanted the cleanest low mileage example out there so I could put all of my own personal scratches on it! And, I do a much better job screwing it up to my own satisfaction! ;) Isn't it great when you wash a car and you can remember every bit of road rash that has been installed into the paint? :L

Like Eric said, that's a great summary!! Saves me a trip from having to go look at it!! Good luck with whatever decision you make. :upthumbs

some of the trim issues are minor - the hatch seal is split on my 89 B2K and has been since 3000 miles, rubber gets tired over time & breaks down.

While the car does sound like it has been driven, It dosen't seem neglected by your description - Like you said, make an offer and see what happens - CC

By your description it does not sound like a 30K mile car. It is more like what you would expect from an 80K mile car. But I guess some people will just drive them and do not care about the cosmetics. It definitely sounds like the cosmetics were neglected but maybe not the drivetrain. I also think the price is way to high for the condition. Best of luck with your offer.

Just looking at the way you type your reply's, i think this isn't the Callaway for you. Just my opinion of course :)

Groeten Peter.

Do yourself a HUGE favor and take the time, effort and money to go check out the Black\Red TT. This way YOU will have a first hand comparison. You WANT a Callaway for the long haul, don't sell yourself short by making a big decision based on looking at one TT. In fact I wouldn't make an offer without looking at the other(s) one first- as he might except it! I think I understand what your assesment was on the TT- you want to buy a Callaway that has been taken care of, no matter how many miles, the same way you would take care of it! Good Luck with your future Callaway- Joe

Aurora - Again, sorry I missed you on looking at the car, traffic was terrible Monday :(

On Friday eve, I am planning on heading to the Dulles car cruise in - your friend w/ the 350z knows where it is :cool
I would be happy to review the pictures you took of the B2K and talk shop - See ya :w :v

Damn!!! 23.5 for a m6, wonderbar car, w/ hood scoops!!!! id be on that like white on rice.

Bob, at that price, you would be hard pressed to go wrong - drive it & if you keep it you can add the Aero to it :confused

Seems like you keep coming back to it - is it due to not many Aero's out there for sale right now, OR??????????

no I didn't pay 19k for mine. I paid ~22k. But I also had to have the tranny rebuilt, a few other odds and ends taken car of, and a few upgrades. I have close to ~30k in the car.

I was not telling you to buy the car. Im not really convinced you want a B2k, I think to get the kind of car you want youre looking at 40-50k.

Not saying that a hot deal can't be made, but you usually get what you pay for. There will be a time though, that even the most ragged out callaway will bring lots of cash, as with any collectable. How you intend to use the car, should be the biggest factor as to the condition and price you'll want to pay for one.
