Hey, I went to a swap meet last weekend and got a set of 17 inch 90 wheels for 60 dollars (not a misprint) :) They have a little curb rash on the rims, and the clearcoat is not pretty, but I plan on polishing them anyway. My question is, can you run these on an 87 without adapters, and if so, how goofy will it look? Will they be set back significantly in the wheelwells? I see in the catalogs that adapters are 200 dollars, is there some place that sells them cheaper? How about aftermarket center caps? Do they exist? I'd like to put something on thats distinctive, but tasteful.

garoo,

no adapters needed to run 285/40/17's i run them on my 87 and i think i got the same rims actually 88-90 series rims.

this isn't the best pic but only one i got right now :(

Youll need adapters if you want them to look right and not risk rubbing anything.

Vettebrakes sells the best quality, and you get what you pay for, you dont want to skimp when it comes to this.

I had a set of '90 rims on my '85 and I used the adapters and the sat on the car perfectly.

I would use adapters to correct the offset.

Mad-Mic, the '90 rims are diff from yours because the center cap is different, but im not 100% sure on the offset.

Best advice is to check around or simply test fit the rims on the car while its on jackstands.

Thanks for the help guys. From what I gather, the wheels will fit without adapters, but will sit approximately 3/4" deeper in the fenderwells. The link from JoBy is especially appreciated.
