Brakes became very hard to apply (like booster took a dump). Changed vacuum booster, master cylinder and still have same problem. Vacuum a plenty, so that did not seem to be the culprit. At the same time the brake lights are stuck on, so I removed the fuse. I don't know if this is coincidental or not, but am trying to get someone small enough to crawl under the dash to check the switch.
I thought maybe the ABS went south but am putting my faith in the computer diagnostics at start up and it says "NOT".
Anyone have a similar problem or have any suggestions?

Brake Light Fix

I had the same problem with the brake lights after I replaced the booster. Most likely when you unbolted the booster inside the cabin at the brake pedal mounting bolts you pushed back the switches in their mount.

Remove the cover under the dash so you can get at the top of the pedal. On my 90 there are two switches that activate the brake lights. They are white plastic cylinders that look like they are threaded and are mounted thru a plate.

One at a time just wiggle them while pushing them down toward the top of the pedal assembly. They will come to rest on the plate that releases the switch when the pedal is depressed.

If you replaced the power booster and the master cylinder and still have to put all your weight into braking and still don't get anything I would think that the booster is still at fault.

Good luck,
