there is nothing wrong with an L98 car. if you like the car and you can afford it buy it! you won't be sorry. read and learn what some of us are doing with our L98's and not even a C6 will scare you once you start modding away. L98 parts are cheap besides the intake but you can always find deals on the internet also on intakes.

you would already start with the D port 113 aluminum castings which is a good flowing stock head. for about 500 bucks in parts and porting to clean them up with a good strong cam and even if you kept the stock intake with some porting you could easily see 350-400 rwhp with about 500 lbs of torque for about 3500 bucks total for the upper end rebuild with all good parts. then smoke away C5's and Z06's. by by C6 :D LT What? :L

LT1s will beat L98s in a bad day
C'mon up, pal. :D :W

But then, is a 406 an L98? If I could just stop those 315s from spinning!

MoeJR: Glad to know, as I'd heard, that a CF can kick butt.

lol whale. Your car is quite the rig. I would love to try the bigger throttle bodies and ported CFI intake like the guy on the sites I listed for cross fires.

Those 2.130 TB's are equivelent to 59 MM TB's on a port injection system. Stock TPI is 48mm.

an experience with modified engines...

A stock engine is...stock. Depending on modifications a modified engine would beat any stock engine.

I have seen a 69 VW beat a 911 Carrera S4. Yes, a flat four 1969 VW :confused

So yes a modified L98 that normally comes with 245 HP pumped up to 400+ HP will beat any LT1, LT5, LS1 any day.

My LT1 is stock but I still race anybody just for legacy and fun :vthen, will go to the BAR and laugh about it.
:bar

Whalepirot , I noticed in your Sig that you have a 4+3 "strengthened" .What all did you have done to it. Ive gotta do something with it in the near future and the other alternatives are expensive (6sp).
Thanks Dave

lots of tweeking and tuning :D and seriously i only have a handful of mods. i'm also at 200' above sea level in late fall the air is real good. i doubt you'll get that in hawaii.

Thank's mike I race at sea level but I think 80 degrees at nightand 80% humity doesn't make the ideal conditions.:ugh

I own an 88 L98 and a 02 Trans AM with LS1.The 88 L98 is more fun just driving around town or speeds below 90mph. The Trams Am needs to be running at 90-100mph before you feel the power. The low end power with the L98 makes it feel like more power than 245hp. Most of us the power you feel is what makes it fun. The big hp numbers are nice but if you can not feel the power what good is it.

Gents, let make it clear...

any VETT is a good choice for a fist time buyer

My first vett was a 92 convertible, it burned on the freeway, it pierced my heart. Just bought my second 5 weeks ago a 95 coupe

Happy Thanksgiving!!!:v
Almost any Vette... let's not forget about them '83s ;)

in *your* weather 80 degrees and hotter i was running 13.3's to 13.5's depending on temp and water temp also. from 102-104 mph

83 Corvette???

Hey, If you own an "83 CORVETTE" :Silly You must have stolen it. To my knowledge the only 83 is in a museum, Am I correct? The rest of them were destroyed. The 84 came out mid-83 with the "Cross-Fire" engine
