Hello everyone, hope you're doing well. I have a 1992 Corvette (LT1) that started making a ticking noise a few days ago. I went ahead and changed the oil, which was clean, but it did not help the noise. Below I attached 2 videos of the noise, both at 190 F. In the first video, the noise is very audible from outside of the car. The second video I attempted to film the noise from inside the car, as from the inside it sounds more like a clanking or thumping noise. It is not very audible over my exhaust, but you can hear it the most in the video in second gear.
First video, outside of car
Second Video, inside car (recommend high volume)
Right now, I plan on doing another oil change to inspect the oil and oil filter for metal shavings. I also saw on an old thread that someone recommended using a half quart of ATF mixed into my oil for 100 miles to flush the system, then change oil again. What are yalls thoughts on this? Any suggestions/guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
