hey guys how have u all been? I havent been on much due to working anyway I have 2 questions, my 1st is that I've noticed that my Torque convertor doesnt engage when my cars cold until after about 5 min of driving..typically it engages at 40mph, but keep in mind it has also been in the mid 20's outside here in NJ. just wondering if its normal? Aftter a few min the tcc engages and disengages as it should..

2cd question my car has 83k when I bought it in Sept. it had 82k, I did a filter an oil change but wondering if i should also do a trans fluid change? car shifts great (knock on wood) and fluid is nice and pink, but should I change it and hope the the previous owner did it on a regualr basis or do i just keep driving it? I dont want to hurt the trans by changing it if the previous owner never did... or is that an old wives tail that changing trans fluild can hurt ur trans?

The torque converters in GM transmissions usually don't lock up till engine temp is at 145 give or take a few deg.
If you don't know the history it can't hurt to change transmission fluid.
Today's fluid is high enough quality that lack of changing it usually don't cause a problem when you do change. 83k isn't a really a lot of miles on the oil, more than I like but changing shouldn't cause a problem.

Hi G Winter

Hi,

Thanks to you I still have the only C4 in Europe with a tow hitch.

I have towed a thousand liters of wine from France to Spain and a boat from the UK to Africa.

I am back in the US for a while, getting new knees, with any luck our paths will cross.

The best of the new year to a guy that freely shares knowledge. There is no better gift.

Good luck with the knees. Glad the pictures etc helped. How closely did you end up following mine ?
Would be great if our paths would cross but I am in NW Iowa so I don't think I will be that lucky.
