saw an 01 vert black/black on e bay yesterday with a buy it now price of 10,100 !!! car looks great with 42000 miles on it. seller is restricting bids to those who can verify ability to pay. knowing that this is well below even wholesale price, i sent email to owner and got a response back from denmark!! he wants 3k deposit and then will ship to states after full payment--scam? ad shows owner to be in boca raton posting just FYI as i believe someone may get ripped off

EBay Scam

Definitely a scam.. I have seen a couple of listings similar to the 01 vert mentioned above. For example, new Kawasaki diesel mule (list $9995) for $3000 buy it now price. When checking with seller, who was in Texas (allegedly) was told mule would be shipped for free from Bulgaria! I notifed EBay security and they responded they are working to shut these guys down.. They may actually be terrorists using EBay to collect illicit funds. If it sounds to good to be true...

Sounds like a scam to me.

We get a bunch of inquiries for Corvettes listed on our classified ads site from overseas buyers who want to give you certified check when "their representative" picks up the car. Check turns out to be counterfeit and you just lost your car. Sounds like this is an extension of that scam targeting buyers instead of sellers.

item was removed on the 23rd and seller is no longer a registered user!! at least no one got burned on this car
