My 85 el camino stalls when stoping. Acts like a four speed when not engaging the clutch. If I use the shifter and put the trans in 1st gear before coming to a stop the engine stays running. Seems like the lock up torque converter wont disengage. Is there a simple solution or is the trany shot? After the car is warmed up it shifts down on its own.
