2nd Generation Q-Jet Metering rods

I just purchased an '80 L-82, beautiful 60K mile car. Car has original carb but it has been played with. Took carb apart to see what was done and found the primary metering rods had been changed, and the wrong type installed. 2nd generation Q-Jets ('75 up) use rods that are .080" shorter and have a differ taper to the tips. I found First generation rods in the carb that also are too small in diameter.
I have checked with GM and the rods are no longer available. I have sent emails to most of the major carb parts suppliers and to Edelbrock as they now make a version of the 2nd Generation carb. Have not received any replies as of yet. So does anybody else know of a source for 2nd gen. primary rods?

I agree ... or call Jet performance ... moreover, it's my understanding that edelbrock has discontinued offering a Qjet clone (series 19xx) ... I inquired recently ... please reference this email dated 11/18/2005:
Unfortunately we discontinued our line of Q Jet carbs about a year and half ago. I would contact Jet Performance in Huntington Beach California.

Jim and Jack - Thanks for the replies.
Jegs still has Edelbrock replacement Metering rods for the 2nd generation Q-Jet. I did the math and computed what currently available rods and jets have an area equivalent to the original set (at cruise). The replacements will be richer at WOT, but that is what we want, right? Problem solved.
