I got the rear spring in tonight. I've still got to get some weight on it and tighten the four center bolts to 50 ft/lbs and adjust the ride height. That will come after I adjust the emergency brake and check the torque on the drive shaft.

The cars been on stands since the last Dragon run in September and now has a bunch of POR15 (That gray stuff you see everywhere is Metal Ready, I wish it was neater), new front differential bushing, differential cross member reinforcing kit, drive shaft u-joints and composite spring.

Looks good but isn't a 340# pretty stiff for a street car?. I'm not up on the spring rates but it seems high to me.

While you have the car up in the air some alum colored spray paint on the flowmasters will make them look new again. Mine were just like yours until I hit them with some paint. What a difference it made.

BOBCHAD, are you using the stock bolts or the 8" extended bbolts to lower the rear? if so, let me know how the adjustments work out for you.
i found some 7" grade-8 bolts at work that i want to use,but am not sure about the adjusting afterwards.
plus, if if the 7's aren't long enough to get my riide height where i want it, then i'll have to go with the 8's

best to you

Nice Bob, once you get it running let me know how you like it, I have been thinking about upgrading my suspension but feel it is not necessary since it is flat as a pancake and the roads are straight out here.
You really have to be carefull when you ride around with the top off in the summer that you don't get to close to a cow when they pee :L

:L :L :L LMAO

The kit came with 8 inch bolts (I thought the stockbolts were 8 inch as well but didn't measure them and had to cut them off when I replaced them). That was one of the attractions of the Muskegon kit over the VBP. It appeared, based on the catalogue, to be more complete for less money and the spring came well recommended.

You can tell that this spring is much flatter once you have it installed. The spring end bolts are halfway through the holes in the ends of the spring before you even touch it with a jack.

Robin,
I have the bolts on the Daytona. When I changed the rear spring I ran the nut up about an inch on the bolts and sat the car down. Then measured from the top of the tire to the fender on each side. Then adjust each side to the desired height. It took some time to get it finished , but it was worth the time. Just remember to compart the rear to the front so the car lokks right front to rear.

GARY, thanks for the info. did you have to re-adjust the lower arms to get the tire straight -up again? i am curious if lowering changes the lean-in of the tires.

cow pee hmmm? glad to live in fla.

I did not notice any big change, but with the 295/50 tires it is hard to see. Changing the ride hieght can change the Caster/ camber; so once you are done it's always a good idea to do a 4 wheel alinment.

thanks gary. i'll let you know what i find when i get a chance to do the bolt swap
