I have a set of ASXs mounted on black sawblades for Thunder. They are almost as sticky as the Firestone SZ50s at about ½ the price. They are better in the wet and really quite. The western tire manufactures had better wake up and start back making good tires at a reasonable price!:lou

Not a thing is wrong with them! I just did not want to have a flat at nite and at my age try to fix it in the dark with a plug-in air comp. and a tire plug. Since I do not drive the car like I am at the race track the run-flats work fine for me. I also work put time at BMW and have had 3 flats in Tampa and drove all the way to Lakeland at 70 miles an hour with no problems. THAT'S WAY

PARTS FOR SALE

:confused Which means you say what you have for sale (or wish to buy) and other members ask questions for clarification. Then you answer them.

Initially information is exchanged, along with a certain degree of social niceties, and then hopefully an exchange of goods and cash will follow.

I have to express my astonishment at how it seems that lately, these For Sale/Wanted forums in the C5 section have become the source arguments.

Deep breaths, everyone.

Now, a little reminder from the ADVICE FOR BUYERS AND SELLERS thread at the top of this forum:

For the Sellers:
- Follow up on communication and inquiries. Yes, you are probably going to get inquiries from folks who aren't serious about buying (especially if you're selling a car.) But you need to follow up on them anyway to avoid complaints being registered. And if the item has sold, have the courtesy to let everyone know with a follow up post to your initial sale thread.

For the Buyers:
- Please, if you aren't serious about buying it, don't waste the seller's time. For someone who is honestly trying to sell parts or a Corvette, they are probably getting numerous inquiries from real potential buyers they will have to wade through. Emails from tire-kickers tend to tick them off.

Bottom line: a little sensitivity by both buyers and sellers would be appreciated.
:)

You're getting bent out of shape because people are asking some questions before dropping almost $500 of their hard earned money?

What do you do part time at BMW? I hope you're not a salesman: "What do you mean, what engine is in this 325? What is this, 20 questions?!?" :L

I admit I was a little over with the Alligator Bit and the Locals at Yeehaw,But you have obviously not Drove across 60 to Tampa or Tampa to Vero Beach!! But I see his point, I wouldn't want to Fix a Tire at Late Night in Tampa or on 60 with a Vette ether!! :upthumbs junk!!

One of the benefits of the racing team is that I get a lot of tires for free. (The distributor can write them off as test tires.) If I liked Mr. Ds car tires as much as I like his bike tires I would never have to pay for another tire for the rest of my life but that is not the case.

The best tire that I have found for Thunder is the SZ50. They can take most of the 450+ftlbs of torque without turning to liquid rubber however the SZ50 is no longer available in 285-17 which is the biggest tire that Euro-law will allow me to use so I have been looking for alternatives. The ASX has proven to be a good tire at a fair price.

I guess that I should have posted, ¨The Kumho ASX tire is, IMHO, and from personal experience, a good tire for the money so if you are looking for tires give serious consideration to the ones that spirt73 has offered for sale.¨

Back in the 70s I lived on the ICWW close to Tarpon Springs and traveled to Tampa several times a week on either the 60 or Tampa Rd. While the 60 is a better choice I would not want to even get out of my car on it after dark. Much less change a tire. There be things in dem waters dat scare the Alligators away and the water could be safer than the Hwy.:ugh

It must be the color, before I got the car I used to screw up the "why did the chicken cross the road" joke. ;)
