When I put the rearend back together I reinstalled the antenna and correct mount. Well it seems that the threads where the top nut is are about stripped. The bracket that bubba had installed was holding it up before but now that I have the correct hardware the top nut is not holding well. I'm looking for suggestions on how to improve the threads so it will hold the antenna up. Currently I wrapped a piece of electrical tape around the thread to try and give it some more bite. I just can't see spending 150 or so dollars on a new antenna just b/c of this... Dave..

The top of the antenna where the external nut (chrome one) threads onto the antenna is made out of some type of plastic that's what is bugger up. I wish it was as easy as re-threading it... I may be just relegated to sending it out to be refurbed... Guess I could go the bubba route.. Put some weatherstrip adhesive on the threads then install the chrome nut...... Dave...
