Previously I got alot of suggestions on lowering my rearend w/a new 330#fiberglass spring. Can anyone tell me where to order these or can I just purchase at hardware store.Thank you all again.. Jim

Vette Brakes & Van Steel are probably the 2 best places. I worked with Dan @ Van Steel he was a nice guy.

If you mean the 2 bolts at the ends of the rear leaf spring, they are probably grade 8 quality as they hold the back of the car up. You should be able to get them from an industrial fastener place. There are several grades of bolts, take an original bolt with you so they can give you the same or better. Hardware store bolts are most likely of a lower quality and I would not trust them. Pat G.

I think it's great the way VBP is involved in discussions on the forum.

Sure, selling product is the goal, but there are many suppliers who wouldn't take the time to participate in open discussion like this.

Thanks Alan.

P.S. No folks, I didn't get a deal on my suspension. I paid full price. :cry

;)

Just saw the note about the bolting and wanted to add please be careful when it comes to replacing the bolting for your cars. There have been a number of threads about this and our knowledgable technical members stress over and over to buy them from a quality automotive supplier. You might think it is a little more expensive but with the loads and torques on these in critical places safety has to be first, you're worth it. Just passing along what I thought was sound advice from respected members on a topic that could be disasterous if taken not taken seriously. Take care and safe cruising.:upthumbs

Been there researched it.. The Grade 8's that are 8" or longer from most Industrial supply stores are not fine thread the longest that I could find when I was looking was 6". And as we know that doesn't do me any better than the factory ones... Just spend the 40 bucks at VBP or one of the other corvette vendors and that includes new cushions that are most likely all deformed anyway... Dave..

Do those prices include the donuts and the washers and nuts?? Dave..

Since posting my question I have replaced my rear bolts w/ 8inch bolts from VB&P and they lowered my car verry close to where it needs to be.I figure another 50 miles should take care of the last inch.Thank you all.. Jim
