86 clutch slave cylinder question

I pulled the slave cylinder out and ordered a new one from not just vettes.
the cylinder looked identical, but when I went to bolt on the fluid line it wouldn't
thread.(Bolt from original S.C.) The threads looked good, but no joy. I got a replacement, but again the same problem. I believe the Slave cylinder on the car is not the original, is it possible there are standard thread vs metric? I cant figure it out.

I haven't seen the slave cylinder on my vette but I'm assuming that it is a thin metal line you are trying to screw in. Those things are very hard to get screwed back in you half to have the threads lined up perfectly. You may want to try unbolting the cylinder & get the threads started this way then ounce the threads are started rebolt the slave into place. GOOD LUCK

I had the slave cylinder and banjo bolt and brought everything back to the shop, and everyone agreed including the resident Corvette specialist that something is different, but they had no clue, bolt fits perfectly in the old unit, but not even a 1/8 of a turn in the 2 replacement parts they ordered.
