a certain amount of oil

When I changed my air filter, I noticed a certain amount of oil in the duct between the throttle body and the air filter. Is this normal?

Been doing high RPM with an elevated oil level in the engine? All that air swirling around in the bottom end can cause oil to spray/sling into the oil ventilation system. This vent line dumps into the air cleaner. That's how the oil gets there. The cure is to reduce your RPM's or install a "catch can" that effectively catches the oil droplets before they go to the air cleaner. But, you gotta empty that catch can often.
