Greetings!
Here are a few of my winter projects.
After cleaning the crud off the chrome around
my lighter trim, I removed the rusty lighter socket.
It was shot. I thought I would have to go to the junk yard
to find another. While looking for some electrical supplies at my
local Meijer, I actually found a new one for $4.97!. Its correct for all
1968 to 2000 Chevrolets. It looks great.

I just need to strip the flaking paint on my ashtray door.
Does anyone know of a good paint to use and the correct color to use?

Next, my shifter bezel. The deluxe interior originally had the
metal wood grained applique. A lot of the painted areas were chipped
along the outside and inside edges. After a lot of elbow grease, I got the
paint off.

Wow! you wouldn't believe the near perfect chrome plating
under the paint. This is one piece that will not be NCRS.

I've opted to leave the chrome and not paint over it. I made a
template and put a nice wood appliqué on it. The painted surface
around the 4 speed logo was ok but I didn't want that chrome showing
since it was pretty scratched up. So I also put the wood grain on it.
