A4 trans fill hole?

Can anyone tell me where the trans fill hole is in an A4 2001 coupe?

Hi there,

Its a 22 mm fill plug on the side of the transmission pan.

You will need to check the level at the temperature of 80-122 F on the DIC>

Thanks Paul. As you know I have been having trans issues with my coupe. After leveling the car out on jack stands, and being warmed up, I unscrewed that plug and fluid ran out. Didn't seem right. Thought I would ask about the plug, just in case I was missing something.

Paul, I'm assuming that you are talking about the transmission temp here. Right?

You didnt state if you had engine running when you checked the ATF, but it has to be running or you will show too much oil.

Yes, transmission temperature is CRITICAL to correct fluid checking.

The drain hole is also the fill hole.

There is no drain hole you have to drop the pan to drain transmission. The fill hole is for checking the level.
