Ages of c4 owners?

I have a friend that is adamant that c4 owners are mostly young guys or gals. His reasoning is that they are the least expensive corvette available and that us "young" people can only afford them and not c3 or c5's. I know for me this is true, I am just finishing college and am putting away for a ring for my lady. Just wanted to poll y'all and see and maybe shut him up!

ps: How could I make this into a poll with different age groups? I'm unfamiliar with how you do that on the site.

... or retired grayhairs! I am 58 and bought my C4 because the price was right (being retired you don't want to spend TOO much) and because I think the C4 is the best looking recent model. I also didn't want something too old because I want to DRIVE it, not admire it, and didn't want any high repair or restoration costs.

at 42 i really enjoy working on and driving my C4 and it has a bike rack- which is an essential upgrade for any triathlete!!

it also happens to be my favorite body style period!!

I'm 45, I've owned a couple of C3's and C4's. Don't think price drove me to buy my last one -- it cost a little more then the C5's I was looking at the time.

49yrs young Here and this is my first Vette guess your friend is wrong. I bought it because the price was right,I like the look,it has adjustable suspension,nice interior and will let my kidneys survive as it ride very nicely.

Ditto except that I am 62 and just went on SS. I have had my red, low mileage '84 4+3 Z51 for almost 5 years and love it.

Shane, I'm sure that C4 ownership is represented by all age groups. Tell your friend that just thinking something does not make it so.

36 here. From what I have seen, Vette's, in general, are not young people cars. Even though C4's are the cheapest newer Vette's, I rarely see younger people driving them.

42 Years old and this is my first -- but not last -- Vette. Owning a Vette has NOTHING to do with the age on your birth certificate, but has everything to do with the age of your heart.
I think I'll get the new 2023 Vette when I'm 60....

I bought my 96 LT1 two years ago and at that time l didn't know how my new (at that time) golden retriever would react alone in the back if l jumped into a store with the windows open. Or got the urge to chew on something. And my wife decided that she would take it for a spin once in a while. She cannot drive a manual and this is my first auto vette and l like it.

Well my wife drove it once and my golden respects my vette as much as l do. So the answer is being that l should have bought a 96LT4 and blew it, l will probably pick up a C5.

To break the trend, I'm 23 and am on my 3rd C4. I bought the first two (86 & 87) were bought because
1 - I've wanted a vette since I was old enough to say Corvette
2 - My college budget wouldn't allow me to spend big money
3 - I couldn't find an 80-82 that was in good enough shape for the money I could spend
4 - I really didn't like the 73 - 79 as much as I liked the C4's
5 - I couldn't afford anything with a chrome bumper

I have my 95 because I had enough equity in my 87 to get into the 95 for under 10 grand and couldn't see passing it up.

43 years old, but feeling much older with five (5) daughters! I own a 1995 Torch Red Coupe. The car was new enough to be dependable (for a Chevy) and old enough to not break the budget.

My friend is retarded. I am twenty nine and he thinks I bought it because I can't afford a newer one. He's partially right. I don't have a huge bank account and i was saving up for a newer vette for a while. My brother in law was in financial trouble so I took his off his hands for $4500.
Most people buy them because certain models call out to them. Me it was a bit of both, loved the car and all i could afford.

One thing I agree about with everyone is that age doesn't matter. It's what you like. I think c4's have a classy look to them.

48 years old here and still loving my vette. With 2 kids in college I hate to spend the money for a newer one, so I'll keep on playing with my 90' coupe. Besides, it only has 120,000 miles on it. It's still new!:L

I am 21 and planning to add to the stable. Hopefully when I graduate college, I can add at least two. Within the first 5 years I hope to have them. I am not sure whether I want a C3 and a C5, or maybe another C4. Either way I have some time to find the deal, and the car to go along with it. BTW, I like the C4 over the C5. The styling is exactly what I expect in a corvette.
