This picture below is a 1979 Mitsubishi Lancer. Notice the difference in the b-pillar?

If you want to see a car that really really looks like the Lancer, have a look at the Plymouth Arrow...

If you read up on the Mitsubishi Lancer, you will find that this particular model was a "captive import" built by Mitsubishi but marqueed as a Plymouth...

If it was built in the UK it is a GSM "Delta". If, however, it was built in South Africa, it would be a GSM "Dart".

Obviously, not much of a challenge for some people!

You are correct. About the name.

Still called a GSM in either country: Glassport Motor Company.
