Anyone put hatch type lifts on their C3 hoods

Has anyone successfully done this ??? I'de like to see some pictures and or advice on doing it. I have a 98 camaro and love how the hood opens on its own verses lifting my vettes hood and the getting the thingy to lock so the hood doesn't drop.

Take a look at Herbs (firstgear) 1960 project. He installed an electric hood hinge, he even has a video attachment to one of his threads.Its pretty cool. Search Herbs postings and you should find it.
Or you can change your "thingy" so your hood doesn't drop..
