I'm looking at the Hooker 2151 uncoated headers for my '96 LT4. I believe these don't have hookups for the AIR tubes. I am supposing I should just remove the tubes and run without the AIR system.

My question is what are the ramifications of doing this ? I don't have a smog check in my county for the inspection so I think I could still get it inspected. Will no air kill my catalytic converters? Will it set the SES light ?

Anybody got any experience with this issue ? Opinions ?

thanks

What AIR is for on your car is to reduce emissioins during start-up. Removal will not effect cat life. Removal or disabling the system will turn on the engine light but a good calibration engineer can reprogram the ECM to ignore that code.

Thanks Hib !!!
