I have a few things posted about my battery dying. I heard there is a master relay in the alarm system. Where do i find that? Could that be the cause of a drain??? I just went out and started my car and it started without hesitation, but when i turned the key it was at 8.9 amps......What is this about a light bulb for testing for a drain? What tool do i need to get to see if i have a drain, and also, does taking out the fuses help find the drain? Now, once i do that, and IF i find the drain, how do i know what wires to look at, or where the drain is??? My hubby is tall, and hates getting in and out of the car. So obviously i am going to have to find the drain myself.... GRrrrrrrrrrr.~ I did find the fuse box, thanks to Jon.... Now how do i do it? I already took out the cigarette lighter, and cleaned that whole area . I thought that might be the problem. NOT~>> Blueslady

You need an ohmeter for testing, do NOT use a test light on your car. The car should draw no more than 30 milliamps with the key off. More than that will drain the battery overnight. If you find a draw, then pull & relace fuses until you find the bad circuit. Once you identify the circuit, then find the short.
By the way, get a new hubby!

I'm not exactly certain, but, your alarm system will draw down the battery. Use a volt ohm meter to see just how much it is pulling. If you have it sitting and only drive it on the week end, it might be enough to drain the battery. You have to drive it or have it in a "trickle" charger, with something that is on when the car isn't.
