For all the Callaway owners who recieved the "Special Collection" posters, how do you plan on preserving the Blueprint paper? Since it will slowly brown overtime I was wondering if anyone had a special process to keep this from happening? Thanks for your help!!

Chad :w

There was some discussion with Tyler Townsley on spraying some clear coat over the face of it. Thanks for asking... I was also curious if anyone else was going to do something like this. Help!

I heard a rumor that about some Callaway ruffians who shall go nameless that beat up another Callaway owner for a card board sign and took a ton of the blue wall posters and a box of programs and wiped out the artist's stash of original painted program proofs. I dunno if I'd want to mess with this crowd... I think the last guy just outta the hospital after being kicked in the groin for trying to get some of this stuff. :L :(

Someone may be able to hook you up. I only got one of each, however, getting you one of these posters is probably the least that could be done for coming out to support the cause. :)

Eric, That is right - It was suggested that some sort of clear laminate over the blueprint would preserve it against fading, etc...

I may look into this soon - anyone else know how to preserve them??

How big a roll does the cleartastic come in? :D

Personally, I plan to seal it in thin plexiglass and mount in on a wall in my office.
Don't know if that will keep it from fading but that's what I plan to do.

I am going to have mine laminated.

I think thats a good idea, but will that still prevent the paper from "browning"? I think the paper itself needs to be top-coated with some sort of UV protectant. I'll have to surf the web to find out more.

Chad

Yes, if correctly laminated it will be protected from browning. The laminate that is being used has UV protection. Much like window film has UV protection. It also seals it air tight and protects against humidity in the air.

DO NOT spray it with anything... it is highly likely you will ruin it.

Your best bet would be to call a local sign shop and see if they can do it. I have the good fortune of having a girlfriend that works in a sign shop.

Kevin, Are you having it done by a local source, or a chain type store?? What is the cost on something like that? I could not find any decent info online...

Maybe I could take mine down to the Natl. Archives in town - though that may be overkill ;)

Did you guys see my license plate? It was made by Signs by Tomorrow. They specialize in signs and laminating and will do it for an extremely good price for fellow Callaway owners (or future ;)). Give Jim Molleca a call at 732-424-9785. I talked to Jim about this and he said it's important that both sides of the paper are fully sealed. They typically laminate signs for outdoor use that are triple the size of our posters so they know what they're doing! They will laminate the posters and ship them back to you right away. I sent them a couple graphics for my license plate and I had it two days later.

Again, call Jim Molleca at 732-424-9785.

I wish i did! I'd send it if i could..... :w

You could take these to a place that copies blue prints. I use to take house prints and get them copied. I have not seen what you have but it should be no problem. Just a thought.
:)
