I am attempting to figure out why my tail lights won't brighten but my third brake light (center) will, when I use the brakes. I have checked the bulbs, rear harness, grounds and connections. Would a bad brake light switch cause only the third brake light to work? Anyone have similar condition or fix? Please advise.

Thanks,

Larry

That happened to me also. Guy pulled up beside and said I only had the center light. While checking the switch at the pedal I noticed the wires run into a connector right where the top of your feet rest. It looked cockeyed. I pushed together and I then had all my brakes lights. I'm guessing I hit it enough times to move it apart far enough to break the connection.

Hopefully yours is as simple too. Good Luck!

Cheers!

Yes the regular brake lights and the CHMSL are operated off different switches. The odds of both failing at the same time are small. So two switches keeps you with at least 1 set of lights working.

Brake Lights

Appreciate the info. It sounds like the brake light switch or connection that I need to check out.
