I found a C-4 registry website last summer and mailed my registration fee. I was promised the members info, t-shirt, etc. I never received anything and my emails have gone unanswered and my check was not cashed. Does anyone know anything about these folks. The website is http://www.c4registry.com/.

I did the "Free" signup. There's not much there yet. I keep hoping that they will improve the site and add more content. Right now it doesn't seem to be worth the money to join.

This is strange...I've been able to connect to the site for months. However, I attempt after I read your response...and it's gone. Too bad because the concept seemed good.

When I read this thread earlier today I was able to connect to the site via the link. Now it's gone. Very strange indeed. Seemed like a good idea.

The server must be down, give it a while, and they should be back up.

The site is now back up....sort of... I can't login but the site is up.

OK I was able to get logged in, it is up and running.

I helped start it, and am a lifetime member. Never could get any help from anyone, so I gave up some time ago. It won't work unless a lot of people really want to do it.

Rob even had a C4 registry Sub forum here to help the registry out, but it never took off either :(

What kind of help do you need? Yesterday I submitted a tech tip for removing the radiator to clean the pooh-pooh from between the radiator and the AC condensor. What else can I do?

more local stuff was / is needed. The attempt was made to be more like the C5 registry, attending car shows nationwide. it is one thing to be online and another to attend and have shows, that is where I got discouraged.

Everyone said they will help, and never did. It is really discouraging working a booth to get more members at a show all day with no real help. Without a big membership, no one takes you seriously, so you can't get in to get discounts or any other perks... and no perks leads to no members. a never ending cycle. Even the hosts of the annual C4 show in bowling green wouldn't talk to us.

When I stepped back from doing shows, no one ever stepped forward... it really shows how much no one really cared, which kinda ticked me off because of how much time and $$ I spent trying to get things going.

There are a couple hundred thousand C4's, you would think it wouldn't be hard to get 10,000 members with those numbers... but it may surprise you:(

i've done something similar to this with internet gaming. very hard to get people to participate. it breaks down like this. 10% will help 20% will say they will help and 70% will just want to be in it.

it's very hard to get it going. you can always get "Perks" from parts manufactures ect all you need is build the site and they will come. you have to start somewhere! you can't just start big and expect it not to become a full time job ;) put up forums for C4 members to share info ect and start from there! before you know it you'd have 2000 members in less than a year and it grows from there.

if you need any help let me know. the site looks great :)

Best thing to do is use it as an information site and grow into trying to do shows! i live pretty close to carlisle only about 1.5 hours away and i'd help organize that show for ya :D this stuff is up my alley! marketing/promoting internet businesses.

well keep me in mind if you do :beer

Come to think of it....I too sent in a registration...last August.....have not heard a word from them. Tell you the truth I forgot all about it.....I don't think they even cashed the check. Years ago I sent away for a membership in the Corvette Club of America...not sure if it cost $$...but at least I got a window decal.....something. I just tried to access C4registry....got connected to a link for Viagra...so at least there lookin out for me having a good time!!!:naughty:

OK, it's not up again. I guess I don't know why I bring this agony on to myself. Let's just chuck the C4 registry towel in.

I am beginning to think the site is on a personal computer that isn't on all the time. ;shrug
:w

The page cannot be displayed

is what I got.
