I am reading a book I have titled Corvette Chronicle by James Flammang & the Auto Editors of Consumer Guide, that covers each individual year of the Corvette from 53 - 01. In the 1956 portion they state "Restyled second generation Corvette offered a choice orf 3 V-8 engines: 210 to 240 bhp." Was this the actual beginning of the C2 because of the changes in body style?
