Tight quarters for taking photos but here they are. The pics don't do the color justice. Seems like Roman Red always looks a bit orange on a computer screen. I will probably try to take some shots outside if the weather improves over the next few days as the color seems more accurate in daylight.

Looking pretty good!! Do you have any more pictures of the resto. online??

Very nice :_rock I really need to have a project like this some time in my life, it must be great.

Look great. It looks real red on my computer screen.

Like I always say nothing like seeing a car in color to get a restoration back into high gear,Nothings better then getting all that shiny chrome back on the car to show off its new paint job.

GREAT JOB!

I bet you never thought you could do it huh

Larry I was really anxious about doing the paint. The technology has changed so much since the last time I painted. I'm glad I started out with small parts first to practice my technique. Overall I am very happy with the results, surprised but happy. :)

Looks super. Makes me want to get out there and work on the '59....almost.

I used an extreme high build primer called Slick Sand by Evercoat and blocked it out. Then I used a Dupont/Nason urethane sealer called Select Seal and top coated with Nason Ful-thane single stage urethane. Seemed pretty easy to work with. I also had allot of great help from this forum to get me through it.

61 paint

WOW! What a great looking car. The color just jumps off the monitor.

Congrats! Ray

There are in some posts but here is one from a while back. (Sept 1969) So here is an original faded photo and the same one photo shopped to correct color. Quite a difference in the old color.

BTW
That '62 by the garage is a Bel Air Bubbletop.

Looks very nice. Thank you for the inspiration! Always nice to see someone making forward progress! My 1960 is getting closer to painting, there is still hope! As soon as I find the correct hood for my 1960, we will be on the home stretch! There must be a correct hood out there for me somewhere! I have two of the first design 1959-1960 hoods, I need a second design hood! (The one that has the relief area across the front to clear the top tank radiator support!)
The search is on! Keep those pictures coming!
