C1 Steering Wheel Color

I've read a number of posts on this forum regarding the grain effect on a C1 steering wheel. But what about the color? My interior is Roman Red. Should the wheel be the exact same color or is it slightly different/lighter. The wheel I purchased on ebay is not quite the same red as the rest of the interior even though the hub that came with it is. Is this right?

The wheel rim may be just faded - they were molded-in-color originally, not painted.
