Trying to properly install new horns in an ac sbc the AIM manual page G273 has a very poor picture of the installation of a support plate with rivets.
I would like to ask several questions to persons who have knowledge
in this area.
Contrasting AIM pictures ac G273 vs non ac G220.
the non ac seems very straight forward. existing, but not shown are 2
raised stampings which surround the welded nuts giving lateral L/R support to the horn mount bracket.
Does the ac car horns use the same mount brackets? or is modification needed?
In the ac car how is if any, support given to the mount bracket if used?

The mount bracket if used would require a orientation different than shown on page G273.

It appears as though the mount bolt goes through the edge of the horn body Is this true?

Is the existing hole 1.4 in. above shown in the picture for the reinforcement ,the hole for the parking light cable?

Any help would be welcomed!

For a 66 horns mount on the glass with a stiffner plate behind them, not on the core support. The same horns and bracket are used and the measurements are called out in the options section of the AIM

A/C cars use the same horns as non-A/C cars. The riveted-on reinforcement plate for the A/C horn mounting has its center hole (for the bolt) 1.44" below the center of the parking lamp wire grommet hole. The horn attaching bolt doesn't go through the horn - it goes through the hole in the bracket that's part of the horn, just like a non-A/C car, and there are no "ribs" in the inner fender to locate it like there are on the radiator support for the non-A/C horn. See section C60, sheet B1.

thanks,
Is there any interference with the parking light cable , condenser or grill ,does the horn loosen and droop?

You just angle the horn outboard so it clears the condenser and dehydrator bottle and torque it down. :)
