My '85 digital cluster was flashing and flickering like crazy. All the gage readings, tach, speedo, etc. were flashing and flickering with crazy numbers and the tach and speed were wildly flickering up and down the bars. I initially thought it was a ground problem so I went through it all and double checked ohm readings, etc. Since it seemed to be flickering to the firing of the engine, I checked the ignition system. I subsequently replaced the coil and that was it! It was running pretty good before, but had a minor idle problem that I had messed with for several weeks. As soon as I replaced the coil, all is perfect now. It idles right on the buton and all dash functions are perfect. Hope this helps someone in the future.
