A few months ago I took the vette in for its yearly inspection. A friend operates a service station close by and he has been inspecting all my cars for many years. Since this is the first inspection since I purchased the car a year ago I figured I would stick around to take advantage of being under the car without having to lay on my back. I drove the vette onto the lift and my friend carefully noted the jack points marked on the inside edge of the frame next to each wheel. He positioned the lift right on each marked point and began lifting the car. Before taking all the weight off the wheels he stopped the lift and mythodically went to each door and cracked them open. I didn't ask why he did this at the time and I wish I had. Also, I don't own a service lift with 4 adjustable jack points. I do have a 3 ton floor jack but I dont want to mess anything up. Can a C4 be jacked on a single point that is not on the recommended jack points?
