A member here at the :CAC made a console lid cover for the Callaway with my spare (new) lid - With the leather, it has of course, a nicer feel to it but also closes w/out any "rattles" :upthumbs

The Leather was fitted over the factory covering and is snug as a glove - I may re-do the SNAT's this way once he get's more leather.

What do you think??

I suspect he would do this for other members if there was interest :upthumbs

How much HP does that add? (Just kidding) Verry nice work.
By the way, thanx for hooking me up with Ron.
After I get the additional work finished, lets plan on me taking a run down to your neck of the woods and we'll all get together.
Ron said he's still waiting for a ride in the BK2!!

Thanks guys :beer

Mark, Glad that worked out with Ron - he has quite a ZR1 collection :eek and uses the beam plates on them all :upthumbs

I took the B2K out for a spin tonite :crazy :v 42 deg. and turbo power sure can't be beat ;)

Let me know when :beer

Any good upholstery shop is able to cover anything with any material that you desire. You'd be better off going that route than having something custom done by someone saying that they "specialize" in Corvette coverings.

A lot of the C5 guys get raped from having their seats re-covered in better leather and better stitching, softer feel, etc. Getting the leather (or pleather) to match 100% is tough though. This is one aspect of shopping that you've gotta consider.. will they match the grain and texture of other components in the car and does it matter to you?

I had a roll bar covered in pleather in a C4 a couple years ago. Oddly enough-- the price quotations varied $750.00 !!! I ended up paying $500 to have it done and the quality of work was 110% phenomenal and it matches the seat texture too!

I'd be interested in that.

What are the details... cost, quality of leather......

Bluewasp did mine as a favor to me, I don't want to mis-quote costs as I only paid for the leather on mine - he has done parts in his C5 and the GS he runs now.

Quality is awesome - I suspect the box lid I have is tougher than a 90++ lid due to the sharp angles in the lid - check out pic 2 and you can see a closeup of the quality.

FWIW, his Mother has worked w/ leather & patterns for decades and helped him know what he does about the quality - I'll see if I can pinpoint him for more details than :beer
