Question: c5 wheels

I've got c5 wheels on my "87" What can I use to polish them. Chrome polish does'nt seem to work.

Do a Google search on care for clear coated wheels.

Sounds as though you might have the polished "Thin spoke" wheels. If this is the case, they are, more than likely, clear coated. To polish them up to that mirror-like finish you are trying to achieve, the clear coat must be removed before the polishing process can have any real affect.

I've never tried it, but the method of choice for taking the clear coat off, seems to be some sort of aviation paint remover. I don't remember the actual name of the product. Once the clear is removed, polishing the aluminum can proceed.
