You might want to consider a plan that I use.Winter storage is near the Orlando airport $100 per month and Jet Blue tickets are $69 one way.A lot cheaper then meds and far more fun. Steve

I know many of you think I get sort of cranky when winter begins to set in up here in New Engalnd - and you wouldn't be wrong. I also know that in a couple of months the subject of who drives their C5 in snow will eventually raise it's ugly head. So on behalf of all you brave snow driver I decided to contact the Tire Rack to see what they recommended for equipment to drive a C5 successfully through snow. http://www.tirerack.com/snow/Winter...&autoModel=Corvette&autoYear=2001&autoModClar=

Well imagine my confusion when they didn't recommend anything. So I called and spoke to one of their reps. He said they really didn't think piloting a Corvette through snow was the brightest thing one might do. Well I was floored. I told him that I've read many testimonials on various Corvette websites from people who regularly drive C5's in the snow. His respose was "yes, and we pray for them everyday".

Good web site on tires, prices, specifications and etc. I saved this to my favorites for future use. How are the mods you had done in Decatur, IN doing? Are you going to drive "Quicker Silver" to CO this next year?

My C5 is my daily driver up here in Toronto Ontario and it sees snow obviously. I have no problems in up to 4 inches of snow with my car, above that and the snow begins hitting the bottom of the car too much. But even at 4 inches, the Pirelli P Zero Nero all season tires I'm running can still handle it. I haven't gotten stuck yet. I even went through one entire winter while still running the stock runflats and they didn't let me down!

If we get more than 4 inches of snow I borrow a car or rent one, but that only happens a couple of times a year so that's why I don't bother putting mine away for the winter. I enjoy driving it too much and I take it to a detail shop every Saturday to get them to give it a proper cleaning, so it still looks like new.

If I were planning on keeping this car for 20 years I might consider putting it away for the winter, but truth be told, I will only have it for maybe another year or two, and then I'm going to buy a C6. And a few years after the C7 comes out and used car prices come down, I'll probably do the same again.

I love driving mine too but thank goodness it is not the only car I have; I just could not stand driving it in the winter snow/ice/sleet or a combination there of. If nothing else it is just not as simple and cheap to fix if an accident would heaven forbid happen. I would think that living in a state that gets no snow and etc. would be ideal, but then again they have their issues as well.

To each their own but mine will be covered in the garage for the winter and that is just around the corner I'm afraid. I can handled not driving it for a few months, it just seems like a year :L

Hi ya Guy, doing just fine here in the Hoosier State. We surely will get a few more days of what they refer to as "Indian Summer" I haven't even closed my pool yet, should have done it a couple of weeks ago but it is about like the Vette hate to think about it I guess. Getting to the point where I may have to hire a pool service company to close it, just finding the time is hardest thing seems like. Not to mention getting older :L

That's really great news. That beautiful roadster deserves to be pampered. Not to mention your lovely wife. She deserves some pampering as well. Don't forget the Taconic Parkway - very smooth - no more cement road bed.

We'll see how it goes. I will be living in Philadelphia with no garage so I need to figure out what to do with it. I've been thinking about storage up there but it depends on price and how much I would actually drive it.

Save me up a large dose of the meds if I have to give it up totally.
