I got a C6 base, last August. It has a power top that isn't going all the way up to the windshield.

It goes all the way down, but returning back up, it goes to about 10 inches away from the rim, then automatically starts going back down. Is this a limiting switch or something I can adjust?

Also, I noticed the hydraulic fluid was just about 30% and looked like coffee. I got some Mercedes (Bilstein brand) hyd. oil as it's compatible, and a whole lot cheaper than the GM (Mobil) product.

The reservoir is at the 'full" mark with 100ml. (I pulled about 35 ml out.)

I was hoping the top going back down, while pushing the "up" toggle was due to not enough fluid and the pump cavatating. But, I changed and added to full mark and there's no change.

Any ideas are welcome.

The car is a stick with 93,XXX miles. It appears that none of the previous owners ever did any fluid changes except for engine oil. I've seen some REAL crud come out of the clutch reservoir.

I found this Tech Bulletin in the Knowledge base in the Tech center at top of this page. Maybe something here will help.

Holy moly, thank you for this link. This thing is more complex than an Apollo Mission!

Here's a pic of the fluid I pulled out of the rez. And the fluid I replaced it with.

It looks about the same.
Sorry, those 2 bottles are the same fluid. I had too much to fit in 1 bottle, so I used a 2nd bottle. This was about 35cc's of oil. (Mobil oil is factory fill.)
Refilled almost 100 cc's of the oil contents of the 1 liter bottle on the right.
Sorry for the confusion.

I used this to pull the fluid out of the reservoir, then inject clean fluid (about 90 cc's.) into the reservoir. Worked too easily.

Is that a feeder for giving cats medicine?

I suppose it could be used as such. Actually, the syringe IS from an equine supply. And the clear vinyl tubing is general use aquarium air line. I use these for many purposes. I have dedicated syringes for:
injecting brake fluid into the bleeder of brake calipers. This forces fluid up into the M/C. Zero trapped air!
Pulling the excess fork fluid out of the top of the tube, precisely. (For motorcycle use.)
and tons of other uses.

Here, I'm using the same syringe to inject hyd fluid into a clutch slave, then up into the M/C on my Husqvarna 701...
