Thats good to hear. Will they cause any problems with the rears which are 285/40s. I ask because my 96 I just got has brand new potenzas on the back & the fronts are bald gscs. I can get a really good deal on the same potenza model, but the only size I can get is 275/40s-the gscs are 255/45s

If you are using stock CORVETTE wheels you shouldnt have any problems.
If you are using an aftermarket wheel you might have an offset problem.
If you are talking about your front tires switching from 255's to 275's there shouldnt be a fitment problem.
But you might have the tires rubbing the fenders.
You may want to ask another C4 owner.
Apparently the approved rim width for 275x40x17 is 9 to 11 inches. 255x45x17 tires need 8.5 inch to 10 inch rim. If i put anything wider that 255s on an 8.5 inch rim they will fit but they become unsafe(I greatly increase the chance of popping the bead off the tire) & handle poorly as well.
The sidewalls will be bubbled out which you wouldn't want especially on the fronts.The bead can break. Also with 275's on the front and 285's on the back....the fronts will turn more rev than the back per mile.
